Knowledge of Rakshabandhan to your child

                                    Rakshabandhan
India is a country of festivals. We celebrate many festivals in india, one of them is rakshabandhan or rakhi. Rakhi comes in august, this year rakhi is on 3rd august.

Significance of rakhi:
Rakshabandhan signifies the bond of love between brothers and sisters. This bond doesnot only  mean between brother and sister by blood, this is beyond blood relations, the only thing you needed is true love. On rakshabandhan, brother takes an oath to protect his sister from any evil. Rakshabandhan is the day to re-live our old memories.
You should teach your child importance of rakshabandhan from the beginning to help them to know about this so beautiful festival.

Long distance rakshabandhan:
Some brothers and sisters live far from each other, either due to their studies or because of not being sibblings. Sisters post their rakhi along with a sweet rakhi message to their brothers and brothers wear it on the day of rakshabandhan. This relation is not bonded by caste, religion, culture etc.
If your kids brother/ sister is far, then help your daughter to send rakhi and a rakhi message for her brother and help your son to order an online gift for his sister. These helps them to celebrate their rakshabandhan with joy.

Festival of gifts:
In india we exchange gifts on festivals like diwali, rakshabandhan, bhaidhuj. On rakshabandhan, brothers and sisters exchange gifts with each other to show their love to each other. They started deciding gifts long before the day of rakshabandhan to have the best gift for each other.
Children love gifts, help your child to select the best gift for their brother or sister to make them feels special on this lovely occassion.

How to celebrate it:
On this special day, from the morning brothers and sisters wear their new clothes, get ready and either brother's goes to sister's house or sister's goes to brother's house. Sisters take the puja thali, sweets, rakhi, gifts with them. Firstly sisters do the aarti, put tilak on brother's forehead, wore rakhi on his wrist, make him to eat sweets with her hand and give him gift she brought. Brothers also make their sister to eat sweet and give her the gift he brought for her. Then they both remember the old days spend with eachother.
Help your children to celebrate rakshabandhan in traditional way and help them to create an unbrokable bond between them.

So, explain your children the importance of rakshabandhan and help them to make this rakshabandhan memorable.
